Schedules
Change displays settings automatically with events like sunrise or charging.
Once you’ve created your favorite Presets, Schedules let you automate when those presets activate—no clicks or shortcuts needed. Set it once, and your displays will adjust automatically.
How it Works
Schedules connect triggers (things that happen on your Mac) with presets (your saved display settings). For example, when your Mac wakes up, DisplayBuddy can instantly switch to your Work Mode preset.
Triggers
Each schedule starts with a trigger—the event that causes it to activate. Here are the triggers available:
Time-Based
- Specific Time: Run a preset at a set time (e.g., 9:00 AM) on chosen days.
- Sunrise & Sunset: DisplayBuddy automatically detects these times for your location (with your permission) and adjusts accordingly.
System Events
- Mac Lock / Unlock / Wake: Automatically switch settings when you log in or when your Mac wakes from sleep.
- Dark Mode: Switch presets when macOS changes between Light and Dark mode.
Hardware & Power
- Monitor Connected: Activate a preset as soon as you plug in a specific monitor.
- Power / Battery: Switch settings when you plug in your charger or when you're running on battery.
Managing Schedules
You can enable, disable, or edit your schedules anytime from Settings → Schedules. This is great for pausing a routine without deleting it.
Note: You need to have at least one Preset created before you can set up a schedule.
